The PIBC has succeeded for almost 30 years as an anomaly when compared to similar organizations or clubs. Growing and flourishing without charters, rosters, dues and rules, the club has evolved into a club governed by the Bridge consisting of a Commodore, Vice Commodore, and a Rear Commodore. In the absence of any rules and regulations to operate the club, Past Commodores serve as a resource of advice and past practices when needed by the standing officers.
However, over the years, a number of practices have become defacto rules or guidelines in operating the Club:
PIBC functions as a boating social Club promoting safe, responsible boating with friends
Lifetime membership is $50.00 and includes a PIBC Burgee

Club treasury financed by the sale of Burgees, 50/50 raffles, and sale of Club items at the Ship's Store

Club meeting is first Thursday of the month
Officers or the Bridge consist of Commodore, Vice Commodore, and Rear Commodore
Change of Officers at March meeting
Officers duties assigned by the Commodore
Calendar of Club activities determined by the Bridge
Club members serve as volunteers for the Calusa Land Trust
An annual meeting is held in January by the Bridge and the Past Commodores
New officers selected by the Bridge and approved by the Past Commodores
The immediate past Commodore serves as an advisor to the Bridge until next past Commodore
